3 Ways You Should Be Using Protein (but probably aren't)

Imagine a world where all cars are white, all pizzas are plain cheese, only Justin Bieber plays on the radio, and your workout is the same…every – single – day. If that sounds like one of your nightmares, you’re not alone. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
We admit, sometimes an abundance of choice can be overwhelming. Veggie pizza, hawaiian, or the all-meat extravaganza? Red car, black car, or that blue color that sometimes looks purple depending on the lighting? However, we can probably all agree that all Justin Bieber, ALL the time, would be a form of torture. And, who wouldn’t get bored repeating the same workout day in and day out? Which leads us to ask, why are you limiting yourself to that same protein shake all the time?
It’s time to think outside the blender bottle and shake up your protein routine! Here are three ways that you can elevate your protein game and get more out of every scoop…
Whip up a sweet treat that packs a protein punch, like these 9Round Protein Peanut Butter Cups!
2/3 cup almond flour
1/4 cup coconut oil
3 tbsp peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1 scoop 9Round Vanilla Ice Cream protein
Mix together until sticky (at first it will seem like it won't want to mix) and press into paper cupcake liners in a muffin pan, filling each halfway.
¼ cup dark or sugar free chocolate chips
2-3 tsp of sugar substitute (like Swerve or Stevia)
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp coconut oil
Melt on low and whisk until smooth. Drizzle a small amount on each cup and place entire muffin pan in refrigerator for 20 minutes. Store in fridge until ready to eat for up to a week.

Make Breakfast Un-boring
Ditch your breakfast smoothie and serve up protein-packed flapjacks that the whole family will enjoy!
2 teaspoons peanut or almond butter
½ cup almond milk, unsweetened
¼ cup whole grain pancake mix
2 scoops 9Round Vanilla Ice Cream Protein
Mix all ingredients together. Add water, if you choose (depending on the consistency you desire for pancake batter) Use non-stick spray on pan or griddle and pour batter onto pan/skillet for several pancakes. Top off pancakes with drizzle of sugar free syrup and cinnamon (optional) or sugar free chocolate chips! These are great on the go. Just warm them up in microwave and eat plain when you’re in a pinch!

Our last tip is a calorie-saving way to crush cravings between meals. It’s not always about how you prepare your protein, but WHEN. We’ve all experienced it – that hunger raging deep inside your stomach after a long day. The kind that makes you wonder if the last four inches of that fruit-by-the-foot that’s been lodged in the backseat for three weeks is still edible. (The answer is no, by the way.)
Whether you just completed a tough workout before heading home, or ran straight from a busy day at the office to baseball practice, having a scoop of protein mixed with water is great calorie-saving, quick-fix to keep you from snacking all the way up until dinner is on the table.
While we realize it’s not exactly practical to tote around the entire bottle of 9Round Protein, we like to be prepared for these situations by measuring out single scoop portions into snack-size Ziploc bags and stowing them away in places like our desk drawers, purse, glove compartment, gym bag, etc. Add your scoop of protein to some water to help satiate that hunger and keep you from consuming an abundance of extra calories.
